  1. Alpha (V1) - B.1.1.7: The Alpha variant, also known as B.1.1.7, was one of the first variants classified as a concern. It is associated with increased transmissibility and was the basis for many of the later variants.

  2. Beta (V2) - B.1.351: The beta variant, or B.1.351, was first identified in South Africa and is suspected of having reduced effectiveness compared to some vaccines.

  3. Gamma (V3) - P.1: The Gamma variant, or P.1, originally comes from Brazil and is believed to have higher transmissibility and the possibility of Reinfection shown.

  4. Delta - B.1.617.2: Delta, also known as B.1.617.2, is considered highly contagious and was largely responsible for the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021.

  5. Epsilon - B.1.427, B.1.429: Epsilon, a variant with the lines B.1.427 and B.1.429, was discovered in California and appears to have a slightly increased risk of infection.

  6. Omicron - BA.1, BA.2, BA.4, BA.5: Omicron, divided into different lines such as BA.1, BA.2, BA.4 and BA.5, is one newer SARS-CoV-2 variant discovered in 2021 that has possible resistance to some immune responses.

  7. Mu - B.1.621: Mu, or B.1.621, was identified in Colombia and became of interest due to potential immune escape properties.
